The Rigel Systems QuikFinder is a precision engineered reflex sight that offers a significant advantage over traditional magnified finderscopes. Standing only 4.5 inches tall, it provides a 1x "heads-up" display that allows you to navigate the night sky with both eyes open. By projecting red concentric circles onto a clear window that are focused at infinity, the QuikFinder makes centering objects in your telescope's main optics fast, intuitive, and natural.
At approximately one-tenth the size and weight of many competing reflex sights, the QuikFinder is the perfect choice for telescopes where weight and balance are a concern, such as small refractors, lightweight Dobsonians, or even large binoculars. Its vertical orientation ensures a minimal footprint on your optical tube while remaining highly accessible from the eyepiece.
The QuikFinder projects two bright red circles (0.5° and 2.0°) directly into your field of view. This "bullseye" pattern is specifically sized to help you judge distances and center targets with extreme accuracy.
While the QuikFinder comes standard with a lithium coin cell, it is designed to grow with your needs. The optional AA Battery Holder is a popular upgrade for heavy users and cold-weather observers.
This easy-to-install accessory provides up to 2700 hours of operation from two standard AA alkaline batteries—nearly 10 times the longevity of the standard coin cell. Installation is straightforward and requires no soldering; simply insert the battery clip in place of the coin cell and attach the holder to the side of the QuikFinder using the provided double-sided tape.
Flexibility is at the core of the QuikFinder design. Every unit comes with two separate baseplates—one large and one small—allowing you to outfit two different telescopes and move the sight between them in seconds.
The QuikFinder uses an easy clip-on/clip-off mounting system. Once your bases are installed using the included double-sided adhesive tape (no drilling required), you can snap the finder on or off without fumbling with screws in the dark. This makes it an ideal accessory for observers with multiple instruments.
The QuikFinder provides a non-magnified, 1x view that matches what you see in the sky. This makes it much easier to point your telescope initially than a magnified finder, which can be disorienting due to a narrow field of view and inverted images.
Installation is a simple "no-solder" process. You clip a small notch as indicated in the instructions, insert the battery clip into the existing coin cell slot, and use double-sided tape to secure the external holder to the side of the QuikFinder body.
No. The QuikFinder baseplates attach securely using the included high-strength double-sided adhesive tape. This allows for a firm mount that can be removed later if necessary without damaging the telescope's finish.
