IMX294CJK Sensor: Advanced Technology at its Core

The ASI294MM Pro features Sony’s IMX294CJK sensor, offering a 4/3 format with expanded diagonal and enhanced pixel performance. This sensor supports true 4K output at high frame rates, making it perfect for astronomic imaging.

Unlocked Bin1 Mode

This mode increases resolution and reduces pixel size to 2.3 μm, ideal for detailed object imaging. However, note the trade-offs: larger file sizes, reduced dynamic range, and lower ADC bit depth. Switch to Bin2 for larger pixel size, higher dynamic range, and improved light capture.

Cooling System for Extended Exposures

The camera’s two-stage TEC cooling minimizes dark current, even during long exposures. Dark current suppression technology ensures negligible noise, achieving as low as 0.0022e/s/pixel at -20°C.
