The optical tube assembly (OTA) of a Celestron NexStar 8SE or any Celestron 8" SCT/EdgeHD will fit perfectly. However, the case is not designed to hold an 8" OTA and its single-fork arm mount simultaneously. You would need to transport the mount separately.
How do I pack my NexStar 6SE with its mount in this case?
The Celestron Optical Tube Carrying Case is designed to hold a complete NexStar 4", 5", or 6" SE telescope, including the mount and optical tube. You will place the assembly inside, use the two included foam spacers to fill any gaps, and then tighten the built-in compression strap to ensure nothing moves during transport.
Is there room for accessories in the Celestron Carrying Case?

The 483mm internal length is sufficient for the OTA, and the 38.1mm thick foam provides excellent protection against road vibrations. The wheels and extension handle make it easy to transport from your car to your setup location.
Is this Celestron case suitable for airline travel?
With external dimensions of 584mm x 381mm x 356mm (23" x 15" x 14"), this case may exceed carry-on limits for some airlines and would likely need to be checked. While the EVA shell and foam offer good protection, we always recommend checking your airline's specific size and weight restrictions before traveling.
