ED Optics: An 8.1° Field Free of Chromatic Aberration

The core of the TrailSeeker ED's optical system is its Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) objective lenses. This high-grade glass virtually eliminates chromatic aberration, or color fringing, which is a common optical flaw that manifests as false-color halos around high-contrast objects. The result is a view that is sharp from one edge of the 8.1° field to the other, with true-to-life color and exceptional clarity, especially in challenging low-light conditions.

A Relative Brightness of 27.04: Phase & Dielectric Coated BaK-4 Prisms

To achieve the brightest, most detailed images possible, every air-to-glass surface in the TrailSeeker ED is treated with Fully Broadband Multi-Coatings. Inside, high-quality BaK-4 prisms are enhanced with both phase and dielectric coatings. This advanced combination maximizes light transmission through the entire optical path, yielding a high relative brightness of 27.04 and a twilight factor of 17.8 for superior performance in the critical hours of dawn and dusk when wildlife is most active.

A 23.5 oz Magnesium Alloy Frame Built for the Field

The TrailSeeker ED is constructed from a lightweight yet rigid magnesium alloy, reducing the overall weight to just 23.5 oz without sacrificing durability. The frame is sealed and nitrogen-purged, making it fully waterproof and preventing internal fogging in changing temperatures. A rubber-armored coating provides a secure grip and protects the binoculars from the inevitable bumps and scrapes of field use, ensuring reliability in the toughest outdoor conditions.
