Its 99mm pure fluorite crystal objective lens, paired with a Kowa XD concave lens, produces superior low-light performance, while the dual-focus system allows for fast focusing and precise adjustments down to a minimum focus distance of 6 m (19.7 ft). Unlike conventional optical glass, fluorite has extremely low dispersion characteristics that virtually eliminate chromatic aberration (the color fringing visible on high-contrast edges). This results in sharp images with true-to-life color, even at high magnification.

Kowa pairs the fluorite element with a Kowa XD concave lens.
