Its optical path is built around a λ/10 BK7 first-surface mirror with ≥92% average reflectivity, ensuring the 16mm diagonal of an IMX533 sensor is fully illuminated without vignetting. Dual-axis rotation allows independent orientation of the diagonal and the attached SmartEye, providing ergonomic viewing at any telescope angle.

λ/10 Mirror: Unvignetted Illumination for 16mm Sensors

At the heart of the Orbit is a precision BK7 first-surface mirror, polished to a λ/10 wavefront accuracy at 633nm. An enhanced aluminum coating with a protective overcoat delivers an average reflectivity of at least 92% across the 450-650nm visible spectrum. This optical design is optimized to fully illuminate a 16mm sensor diagonal, such as that found in the IMX533, without any vignetting.

An integrated 1.25" filter thread on the top side allows you to use smaller, more affordable filters directly in the optical path.
