The added 5mm provides the flange distance C-mount lenses need to reach focus on a CS-mount camera or adapter.

The 5mm Solution for C-Mount Lenses on CS-Mount Cameras

The C-mount standard has a flange-to-sensor distance of 17.526mm, while the CS-mount standard is only 12.526mm. This adapter bridges that 5mm gap. By threading it onto a CS-mount, you create the correct spacing to attach C-mount lenses and bring them to a sharp focus.

This adapter is designed for one-way conversion: using C-mount lenses on CS-mount cameras. It is not intended for, and will not work for, attaching CS-mount lenses to C-mount cameras, as that would require moving the lens closer to the sensor, not farther away.

6061-T6 Aluminum Construction

The adapter is made from Aluminum 6061-T6, a strong and lightweight alloy, for a solid metal-to-metal connection between your camera and lens.

What is the Player One CS-C 5mm Adapter used for?

The Player One CS-C 5mm Adapter is a simple extension tube that converts a CS-mount interface into a C-mount.
