The Explore Scientific eyepieces were/are on sale at an amazing price and I couldn't help but pick-up a full set.
I do public outreach for my RASC centre and am often the guide when a person takes their first ever look through a telescope. Until now, I've been relying on the Meade 4000 series plossls as my go-to eyepieces, though I have acquired a few other oculars over the years. They were OK, but limited.
My first ever view through the Explore Scientific 100deg 25mm knocked my socks off! I was targeting the Double Cluster in Perseus with my 8" SCT, just to see. WOW! WOW! WOW! Nice dark skies and a view like you're in a spacecraft looking through a window port. Look over there to the right! More stars! To the upper left - more. So much more room to see objects.
I was amazed my 8" was able to get both clusters within the same FoV with a 25mm!
I've been missing out for years.
I'm now the proud owner of the 9mm, 14mm, 20mm and 25mm 100deg Explore Scientific eyepieces. Love them so much.
