Celestron Origin Mark II brings professional grade astronomy to your backyard. This all in one home observatory merges advanced optics, smart automation, and real time image processing into a simple, connected experience. Whether you are new to the hobby or an experienced observer, Origin turns stargazing into a guided astrophotography session you can control from your phone or tablet.
At the heart of Origin Mark II is Celestron's 6 inch Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA). Its ultra fast f/2.2 optical system captures more light in less time, producing wide, sharp images across the field of view. The same RASA design is used by research observatories and aerospace organizations for tracking satellites and space debris. For home use, it delivers bright, detailed deep sky images without long exposures or complex setup.
The Origin 678C Camera features Sony's Starvis 2 CMOS sensor with 8.4 megapixels and 2.0 micrometer pixels. Matched precisely to the RASA optics, it captures fine structure in galaxies, nebulae, and clusters with excellent sensitivity and resolution. The result is a live, high resolution view of the universe that is ready to save or share instantly.
Origin Mark II uses onboard AI algorithms to process images in real time. These algorithms do not generate data or add color to your images. They refine the actual data by stacking and sharpening frames, the same way an experienced astroimager would. Every image remains your own data, optimized for detail and color.
With StarSense technology, setup takes less than two minutes. Origin automatically focuses, scans the sky, and aligns itself by recognizing star patterns. Use the Origin app, powered by SkySafari, to choose targets, start imaging, and watch live results on your device.
Multiple users can connect to Origin at once, each viewing and controlling sessions from their own device. You can also cast the live feed to a smart TV so everyone can enjoy the view together.
Origin supports standard 1.25 inch and 2 inch filters, raw data export, and optional upgrades such as an equatorial wedge and StarSense Autoguider for longer, precision-guided exposures. Schedule automated imaging sessions to capture targets while you sleep.
Each component weighs under 16 lb and assembles without tools. The internal battery provides over six hours of operation, and the system is compact enough for travel to dark-sky sites. The package includes the 6 inch RASA tube with integrated camera, single fork mount with internal battery and computer, tripod, autofocuser, dew prevention system, and filter drawer.
Celestron Origin Mark II combines speed, automation, and intelligent imaging to make astrophotography accessible and enjoyable. From nebulae to distant galaxies, the universe is now within reach with a single tap.
