By replacing the stock focuser assembly with a precisely machined interface, this adapter eliminates potential flexure and tilt, providing the stable foundation required for automated focusing with heavy camera and filter wheel combinations on these large-aperture systems.

A Rock-Solid Foundation for 10" to 16" RC Autofocusing

Large Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes, from 10" to 16" apertures, are powerful imaging instruments that demand an equally robust focusing system. This adapter is engineered to provide a direct, secure mounting point for the Prodigy Microfocuser, ensuring that the entire optical train remains perfectly collinear. This rigidity is critical for achieving sharp, consistent focus across the large image circles these telescopes produce, especially during long automated imaging sessions where temperature shifts can cause focus drift.

Broad Compatibility with GSO-Made RC Telescopes

Guan Sheng Optical (GSO) manufactures Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes for many well-known astronomy brands. This adapter's compatibility extends beyond the GSO label to include identical models sold under names such as Astrotech, Omegon, Altair, and TS. If you own a 10", 12", 14", or 16" RC from any of these brands, this adapter allows you to integrate the advanced capabilities of the Prodigy Microfocuser into your imaging setup.

Is this Prodigy Microfocuser adapter required for my 12" GSO RC?

Yes.
