Its oil and water repellent coatings make it easy to clean, and the filter helps protect the objective lens from accidental damage, which is not a defect covered by warranty.

Essential 72mm Protection for Kowa TSN-66A & TSN-66S Scopes

The objective lens is the most critical and expensive component of your spotting scope. Harsh environments (such as sand and salt at the coast), an accidental fall from a tripod or contact with a sharp object can cause irreparable damage to the lens and its coatings. The TP-72FT is a 72 mm filter that fits the filter ring and threads directly onto the front of your Kowa TSN-66A or TSN-66S, acting as a sacrificial barrier.

This filter guards against a costly objective lens replacement; accidental damage is not a defect in materials or workmanship, so it is not covered by warranty. Its coatings repel oil and water, making it easy to clean, and Kowa says a protective filter drastically reduces the risk of objective lens damage, prolonging the life and optical clarity of your scope.

Which Kowa scopes does the TP-72FT filter fit?

Kowa lists the TP-72FT filter for the Kowa TSN-66A and TSN-66S PROMINAR spotting scopes, which feature a 72 mm filter thread on the objective lens housing.

If I'm observing seabirds at the coast with my TSN-66S, how does the TP-72FT help?

Kowa names sand and salt at the coast among the hazards to an objective lens.
