Integrated Hub with 4 USB 2.0 Ports

The ASIAIR Mini acts as the central nervous system for your telescope, connecting your hardware through its array of ports. It includes four USB 2.0 ports to manage your main camera, guide camera, electronic focuser (EAF), and filter wheel (EFW) simultaneously. The four 12V DC outputs power this equipment and can also run dew heaters, keeping your setup clean and powered from a single source.

• USB 2.0 Trade-off: The use of USB 2.0 ports keeps the device compact and power-efficient but limits download speeds for cameras with very high resolution sensors compared to a USB 3.0 connection. For most planetary and deep-sky cameras, this has a negligible impact on capture performance.
• DSLR Control: A dedicated SNAP port provides shutter control for a wide range of DSLR and mirrorless cameras, integrating them fully into the ASIAIR ecosystem.

ZWO ASIAIR Mini vs. ASIAIR Plus

Choosing between the ASIAIR Mini and its larger sibling, the ASIAIR Plus, comes down to portability needs and specific hardware requirements.

• ASIAIR Plus Advantage: The Plus features USB 3.0 ports for faster full-frame downloads and a dedicated gigabit Ethernet port. It also has higher capacity eMMC storage options and no resolution limit for its live stacking feature.
• ASIAIR Mini Advantage: The Mini's primary strength is its size and weight, being 42% smaller and 21% lighter. It is the ideal controller for lightweight travel rigs, camera tracker setups, or imagers whose cameras do not require the high bandwidth of USB 3.0. While its live stacking is capped at 26 MP, this is sufficient for the vast majority of dedicated astronomy cameras on the market.

Onboard Automation with 32 GB Storage

The ASIAIR Mini eliminates the need for a laptop at the telescope. From your tablet or phone, you can control polar alignment, GoTo slewing, plate solving, focusing, and fully automated imaging sequences. With 20 GB of usable space on its 32 GB eMMC drive and read speeds of 119 Mb/s, it stores your night's data reliably until you can transfer it for processing.
