Achieve exact composition without touching your imaging train. The ZWO CAA's motorized control eliminates the flexure and shifted alignment that occurs with manual rotators. With a step resolution of 0.02° and an overall accuracy of less than 0.1°, you can precisely align guide stars, frame complex nebulae like the Horsehead (Barnard 33) and Flame (NGC 2024) in a single shot, or set up perfect mosaic sequences in your automation software.

16.5mm Backfocus and 48mm Full-Frame Aperture

Engineered for modern imaging systems, the CAA inserts into your optical path with a minimal 16.5 mm profile. Its broad 48 mm clear aperture prevents vignetting on sensors up to full-frame format. The telescope side uses a standard M54 female thread, and ZWO includes both M54 and M48 male-threaded adapters for the camera side, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of filter wheels and off-axis guiders.

• Backfocus Consideration: The 16.5 mm thickness must be accounted for in your total backfocus calculation, which may be a constraint for systems with tight tolerances, such as those using certain field flatteners or reducers.
• Secure Connection: For tightly threaded connections, a locking slot allows you to use the included 1.5 mm hex wrench to hold the rotator stationary while attaching or removing accessories.

The CAA is controlled through a modern USB-C port for both power and data, simplifying cable management. For those who prefer tactile control at the telescope, a 3.5 mm jack allows you to connect an optional ZWO EAF hand controller for direct, software-free adjustments.
