  • ZWO EAF Bracket for Celestron C11 and C14

This ZWO EAF Bracket provides a direct, secure connection for your electronic focuser to Celestron C11 and C14 telescopes, including couplings for both 5mm and 4mm EAF output shafts. The included hardware kit with M3-35mm, M4-35mm, and M4-8mm screws ensures you have the necessary components for a solid installation on compatible OTA models from the mid-2000s onward.

CNC Machined Bracket with M3 & M4 Hardware

ZWO machines this bracket from a single block of aircraft-grade aluminum to ensure a zero-flexure connection between your ZWO EAF and the telescope's focusing mechanism. This rigidity is critical for automated focusing routines, as it eliminates mechanical slip and ensures repeatable, precise focus adjustments every time. The bracket is engineered for a perfect fit on compatible C11 and C14 focus assemblies.

Dual Couplings for 4mm & 5mm EAF Shafts

This kit includes two separate flexible couplings to guarantee compatibility with any version of the ZWO EAF. Whether you have an older EAF with a 5mm output shaft or a newer EAFN/EAF Pro model with a 4mm shaft, this bracket provides the correct hardware for a secure, slip-free connection. This allows you to upgrade your EAF in the future without needing to purchase a new bracket.

    Direct-Drive Focusing for C11 & C14 OTAs

By connecting the EAF motor directly to the telescope's primary mirror focusing shaft, this bracket bypasses the manual focuser knob entirely. This removes a potential source of backlash and image shift associated with standard or aftermarket microfocusers. The result is a more direct and responsive autofocus system, which is essential for remote imaging and achieving critical focus on high-resolution targets.

    • Compatible Models: Celestron EdgeHD 11"/14", C11/C14 Schmidt-Cassegrains, and 11" RASA OTAs.
    • Important Limitation: This bracket is only compatible with Celestron SCTs manufactured in the mid-2000s or later. Older models use a different focuser housing and are not supported.
  • Which ZWO EAF models work with this C11/C14 bracket?

All of them. The kit includes two flexible couplings: one for the 5mm shaft found on the standard 5V ZWO EAF, and one for the 4mm shaft on the newer EAFN and EAF Pro models. You simply use the coupling that matches your specific EAF.

Do I have to remove my FeatherTouch focuser to install the ZWO EAF Bracket?

Yes. This bracket is designed to completely replace the manual focuser assembly, whether it's the stock Celestron knob or an aftermarket unit like a FeatherTouch microfocuser. The EAF bracket connects the motor directly to the telescope's internal focusing rod for a more rigid, direct-drive system.

How can I tell if my Celestron C11 is new enough for this ZWO bracket?

This bracket fits Celestron SCTs made in the mid-2000s or later. While there is no definitive serial number cutoff, you can visually inspect the focuser assembly on the rear cell of your telescope. If you are unsure, it is best to compare your focuser base to product images or contact our support team before purchasing.

Will this ZWO EAF bracket fit a Celestron C9.25 or C8 telescope?

No. This bracket is specifically designed for the larger physical dimensions and bolt pattern of the Celestron C11 and C14 rear cells. It is not compatible with C8, C9.25, or any other smaller Celestron SCTs.

Can I still focus my C14 manually after installing the ZWO EAF bracket?

No. The installation process involves removing the manual focus knob to mount the bracket and EAF motor. All focusing must be done electronically through the EAF hand controller or via software (such as ASCOM or the ASIAIR) after installation is complete.

What tools do I need to install the ZWO EAF Bracket for C11/C14?

Installation typically requires a set of metric hex keys (Allen wrenches) to tighten the screws for the bracket and the set screws on the flexible coupling. The process is straightforward and involves removing the existing focuser knob and attaching the bracket using the supplied M3 and M4 screws.
