    The Baader V-495 Dovetail Bar is a 495mm (19.5") Vixen-style bar for the Celestron RASA 8" astrograph. It connects on top of the RASA 8" optical tube, installs into the tube's existing holes, and its aluminium body gives you a sturdy platform for attaching accessories.

    A 495mm V-Style Accessory Bar for the RASA 8"

    The bar installs easily into the existing holes on top of the RASA 8" and, per Baader's description, is fastened with the screws supplied with the RASA 8". Once fitted, its V-style profile accepts standard Vixen-style clamps, so you can attach accessories to the optical tube.

    • Accessory Mounting: The aluminium body provides a sturdy platform for accessories, such as a guide scope or an onboard computer, on top of the optical tube.
    • Vixen-Standard Profile: Built to the V-style (44mm) specification, so it accepts standard Vixen-style clamps and accessories.

    Will this Baader V-style bar fit my mount's Losmandy-style (D-style) saddle?

    No. This is a V-style (Vixen) dovetail bar and will only fit in V-style saddles. It is not compatible with wider Losmandy D-style saddles unless you are using a dual V/D saddle that accepts both formats.

    Can I mount a guidescope on this 495mm dovetail bar with my RASA 8"?

    Yes. Fitted on top of the RASA 8" tube, the bar provides a platform for accessories such as a guidescope held in a Vixen-style clamp or its own rings.

    Is the Baader V-495 bar only for Celestron mounts?
