Star Knobs
These star-shaped knobs are the level adjustment screws of the iOptron AZ Mount Pro tripod: three thread onto the tripod head and are turned by hand to level the mount. The oversized, star-shaped grip is easy to turn even with gloves on, saving you time and frustration during an observing session.
Level Adjustment Screws for the AZ Mount Pro
iOptron ships three of these knobs (#8340) with the AZ Mount Pro tripod system as its level adjustment screws. They provide superior leverage and a comfortable grip, so the mount can be leveled by hand.

Tripod Head: Thread the three knobs onto the AZ Mount Pro tripod head and raise them about 5 mm before setting the mount on them.

Mount Base: The three holes on the bottom of the mount base sit on the knobs, and the tripod bolt then secures the mount.

Leveling: Turn the knobs to level the mount using the bubble level on its base.
