RB Focus 2.1 x 5.5 mm DC Power Cable - 1m
- 1 m Length
- 2.1 x 5.5 mm DC Connector
- 2 x AWG 16 Wires (1.31 mm² each)
- Made for RB Focus power boxes
The RB Focus DC Power Cable is a 1 m power cable with 2.1 x 5.5 mm connectors and 2 x AWG 16 wires (1.31 mm² each, conductor diameter approx. 1.29 mm). RB Focus makes it to connect its power boxes to cameras, focusers, flat panels and eXcalibur panels.
The AWG 16 conductors (1.31 mm² per wire) give the current capacity for a wide range of devices, as RB Focus states, and the 2.1 x 5.5 mm connector gives a firm connection that reduces the risk of accidental disconnection during a session.
This 1 m cable is designed to connect RB Focus power boxes, such as the Balinor Pro, to various pieces of astronomical equipment. It is ideal for powering cameras, electronic focusers, motorized flat panels like the eXcalibur, and other accessories that use a standard 2.1 x 5.5 mm DC power input.
It is a 2.1 x 5.5 mm cable, so it fits other devices with that connector. Check that your device accepts the voltage of your power source; RB Focus does not state the polarity, so ask us if you need to confirm it.
AWG 16 (1.31 mm² per wire) is the conductor size RB Focus chose so the cable can carry the current for a wide range of astronomy devices.
Yes, if your camera has a 2.1 x 5.5 mm power input. RB Focus lists cameras among the devices this cable is made for, alongside focusers, flat panels and eXcalibur panels.
A 1-meter length is typically sufficient for connecting devices on the optical tube assembly (OTA) to a power box also mounted on the OTA or the mount's saddle plate. However, for connecting to a power source located further away, such as on the pier or tripod, you may need to plan your cable routing carefully or consider a longer cable if your setup requires it.
