The wavelength calibration of a spectrum requires to observe the spectrum of a calibration light – that is of a light with numerous emission lines the wavelength of which is perfectly known. We can place such a lamp in front of the telescope, but the Alpy calibration module makes things much simpler, and thus allows a big productivity.

The Alpy calibration module embeds a Argon-neon lamp, the spectre of which is perfectly known.
