The design leverages powerful Neodymium magnets to ensure your filters are held firmly and consistently in the optical path, preventing accidental drops and maintaining repeatable alignment for calibration frames.

    Precision Fit for 31mm, 36mm and 47.4mm Unmounted Filters

    These holders are specifically engineered to accommodate unmounted Baader filters: 31mm and 36mm round filters with a 2mm thickness, or filters with a diameter of 47.4 mm, the standard for Baader's 2-inch filter line. This allows imagers to use their filters without the added thickness and potential vignetting of a standard metal cell, which is critical in fast optical systems. The 3D-printed construction provides a lightweight yet rigid housing that perfectly matches the filter's dimensions, preventing movement or rattling of the filter.

    Each of the four holders in this set is embedded with Neodymium magnets. This system ensures the filter drawer snaps into the exact same position every time, which is essential for the accuracy of flat fields.   • Which filters are compatible, and which set should I choose?

    Choose the set that matches your unmounted Baader filters: 4x 31mm or 4x 36mm for round filters with a thickness of 2mm, or 4x 2" for 2-inch filters with a glass diameter of 47.4 mm. None of the sets are compatible with filters that are pre-mounted in threaded cells.

    How many holders come in one FCCT Filter Holder set?

    This product includes a set of four individual filter holders, allowing you to populate a filter drawer for LRGB, narrowband, or other filter combinations.

    What prevents the FCCT filter holders from falling out of the drawer?

    Each holder has built-in Neodymium magnets. These create a secure connection with the filter drawer, holding it firmly in place and ensuring it cannot fall out accidentally during use.

    Can I use threaded, mounted filters with these FCCT holders?

    No. These holders are specifically made for unmounted filter glass of 31mm, 36mm or 47.4 mm diameter. The outer metal cell of a mounted filter, such as a standard M48-threaded 2" filter, will not fit inside these holders.

    As these FCCT holders are 3D-printed, how durable are they?

    The holders are printed from a durable, high-quality material designed for astronomical accessories. While they are robust enough for regular use, they should be handled with care compared to machined aluminum parts. The lightweight nature of the 3D-printed material helps reduce the overall weight on your imaging train.
