What is the primary use for the Baader FLI to M68x1 Adapter?

This adapter is designed for one specific purpose: to connect a Finger Lakes Instrumentation (FLI) camera, which uses a dovetail mount, to an accessory or focuser that has a female M68x1 thread. It allows imagers to integrate their high-end cameras into the robust and versatile Baader M68 optical system.

I want to connect my FLI camera to a Baader Steeltrack focuser with an M68 thread. Is this the right adapter?

Yes, this is the correct component. If your Baader Steeltrack focuser terminates in a female M68x1 thread, this adapter's male M68 thread will connect directly to it, while the other side securely holds your FLI camera's dovetail mount.

Will this Baader adapter work with my FLI ProLine or MicroLine camera?

Yes, this adapter is designed to be compatible with the standard dovetail mounting system found on FLI camera bodies, including models in the ProLine and MicroLine series. It provides the necessary mechanical connection to the M68 system.

Why should I use the M68 system with my FLI camera instead of a standard T-2 thread?

The M68 system offers two main advantages over the smaller T-2 (M42) standard: Larger Clear Aperture to prevent vignetting with large sensors, and Greater Rigidity for a secure, zero-flexure connection critical for heavy cameras and accessories.

Is this Baader FLI adapter threaded on the M68 side?

Yes. The "(M)" in the product title indicates that this adapter features a male (external) M68x1 thread. It is designed to screw into a female M68x1 port on a focuser, corrector, or other accessory.

How does this Baader adapter attach to the FLI camera body?

The adapter features a precision-machined dovetail receiver. You simply slide the corresponding dovetail on your FLI camera body into this receiver and lock it in place, typically with set screws, to create a solid and secure mechanical connection.
