HEQ5 or EQ6-R for imaging?

HEQ5 is comfortable up to roughly 9 kg of imaging payload and is far more portable. EQ6-R handles heavier tubes and longer focal lengths with better guiding margin, at nearly twice the weight to carry.

Is a Star Adventurer enough to start imaging?

For camera lenses up to about 200 mm and exposures of a few minutes, yes, and it is an excellent way to learn tracking, framing and stacking before committing to a full mount.

Do Flextube Dobsonians hold collimation?

Reasonably well, but the truss design means collimation should be checked after each collapse and re-extension. It takes a minute with a Cheshire once you are used to it.

Which flattener does my refractor need?

Each Esprit and Evostar model has a dedicated corrector with its own back-focus. Tell us the exact tube and camera and we will specify the flattener and spacers together.
