What is the Baader UFC 1.25" AUX Filter-Holder for?

This holder is designed to securely mount a standard 1.25" threaded filter inside a Baader UFC-RD50 Filter Slider (#2459113). It allows you to use 1.25" filters within Baader's Universal Filter Changer system.

Do I need any other parts to use this 1.25" UFC Filter-Holder?

Yes, this part is not usable on its own. You must have the Baader UFC-RD50 Filter Slider, as this holder is designed to be installed inside of it. The slider and the rest of the UFC base system are sold separately.

Can I use the Baader UFC 1.25" Filter-Holder to quickly switch between an L-Pro and a UHC filter on my SCT?

Absolutely. The intended workflow is to purchase two UFC-RD50 sliders and two of these 1.25" holders. You can then pre-install your L-Pro filter in one slider assembly and the UHC in the other, allowing you to swap them at the telescope in just a few seconds.

Does this Baader UFC filter holder work with 2" or unmounted 50mm filters?

No, this specific holder is only for threaded 1.25" filters. Baader makes other dedicated holders and sliders for different filter sizes, such as 2" and unmounted 50.4mm or 50x50mm filters, as part of the modular UFC system.

I'm building a lightweight imaging train for my RedCat 51. Is this Baader 1.25" holder part of a low-profile system?

Yes, the entire Baader UFC system is engineered to add minimal back-focus and maintain a rigid, compact connection between your camera and telescope. This 1.25" holder is a key component for integrating filters into that low-profile setup, making it an excellent choice for systems where back-focus is critical.

How does the Baader 1.25" AUX Filter-Holder attach?

It is secured inside the Baader UFC-RD50 Filter Slider. It does not attach directly to a camera, focuser, or telescope on its own; it is an internal component for the filter slider.
