What is the primary use for the Baader Zero Optical Length Adapter (2" SCT to M44x1)?

Its sole purpose is to connect the Baader Hyperion Zoom Mark IV eyepiece to spotting scopes or other optical devices that have a male M44x1 connection thread. This includes specific models from Leica and older equipment from Carl Zeiss-Jena.

Will this Baader adapter work with my Leica spotting scope?

This adapter is compatible only with Leica spotting scopes that feature an M44x1 male thread for eyepiece attachment. You must verify the specific thread on your spotting scope model before purchasing, as Leica has used various connection standards over the years.

What does "Zero Optical Length" mean for this Baader adapter?

"Zero Optical Length" means the adapter is designed to not add any length to the optical path. This is crucial for systems with limited focuser travel, like spotting scopes, as it ensures you can still reach infinity focus with the Hyperion Zoom Mark IV eyepiece attached.

Can I use this Baader Zero Optical Length Adapter to connect other eyepieces?

No. This adapter is specifically designed for the Baader Hyperion Zoom Mark IV, which has a female 2" SCT thread concealed under its rubber eyeguard. It will not work with standard 1.25" or 2" push-fit eyepieces.

I want to use my Hyperion Zoom on a modern Kowa spotting scope. Will this Baader M44x1 adapter work?

No, this adapter will not work. Modern Kowa spotting scopes use a proprietary bayonet mount, not the M44x1 thread this adapter is designed for. You would need a different, Kowa-specific adapter.

How do I attach the Baader Zero Optical Length Adapter to my Hyperion Zoom Mark IV eyepiece?

First, you must unscrew and remove the 1.25" barrel and the 2" barrel from the base of the Hyperion Zoom Mark IV. This will expose a female 2" SCT thread. The male 2" SCT thread on the adapter then screws directly into this exposed thread on the eyepiece.
