    IDEAL 8L: 200mm f/6 Primary with Certified 1/6 PV Wavefront Optics

    At the heart of the IDEAL 8L is a 200mm parabolic primary mirror, hand-figured to a minimum standard of 1/6 Peak-to-Valley (PV) wavefront accuracy. This figure, verified by an included Zygo interferometer report, ensures that the telescope delivers sharp, high-contrast images free from the subtle aberrations that soften details in mass-produced optics. The 1200mm focal length results in an f/6 focal ratio—a versatile sweet spot that provides enough magnification for detailed lunar and planetary work while remaining fast enough for capturing faint nebulae.
