What is the purpose of the PrimaLuceLab Cable Locking Clip for GIOTTO?

The Cable Locking Clip (CLC) is designed to securely fasten the USB and power cables to the body of a GIOTTO flat field generator when it is connected to an ALTO cover motor. This prevents the cables from accidentally pulling out, ensuring a reliable connection for remote operation.

Is the GIOTTO Cable Locking Clip included with any other PrimaLuceLab products?

Yes, this Cable Locking Clip is already included in the package with the PrimaLuceLab ALTO Telescope Cover Motor. This item is offered as a spare or replacement part if your original clip is lost or damaged.

How does the Cable Locking Clip improve the reliability of my GIOTTO and ALTO setup?

By providing mechanical strain relief, the clip prevents cable snags or tension from disrupting the power and data link between the GIOTTO and ALTO. This is crucial for automated observatories where physical access is limited, ensuring your flat calibration frames are captured without interruption.

I lost the clip that came with my ALTO motor. Is this the correct replacement?

Yes, this is the official, genuine replacement part from PrimaLuceLab for the clip that is supplied with the ALTO motor. It is designed specifically for this connection.

Why is a secure cable connection so important for remote flat field calibration?

Remote flat field calibration relies on the GIOTTO panel turning on and adjusting brightness via software commands sent through the ALTO motor. If the data or power connection is lost, the panel will fail to operate, and your imaging software will be unable to capture the necessary calibration frames, potentially compromising your entire imaging dataset.

Can I use this Cable Locking Clip with other PrimaLuceLab products?

This clip is specifically designed for the housing and port layout of the PrimaLuceLab GIOTTO when connected to the ALTO. It is not intended for use with other devices like the EAGLE computer or SESTO SENSO focuser, which have different physical configurations.
