Which mounts is the PrimaLuceLab PLUS Adapter Plate compatible with?

This adapter plate is designed for the Sky-Watcher EQ6, N-EQ6, AZ-EQ6, and the Orion Atlas EQ-G and Atlas Pro AZ/EQ-G mounts. It serves as the mechanical interface between the mount head and a PrimaLuceLab PLUS clamp.

What do I need besides this PrimaLuceLab Adapter Plate to upgrade my EQ6 mount?

You will also need the PrimaLuceLab Vixen+Losmandy PLUS dovetail clamp (sold separately). This adapter plate provides the specific interface required to connect that clamp to the EQ6-style mount head.

Will this PrimaLuceLab Adapter Plate reduce flexure on my Atlas Pro mount with a heavy telescope?

Yes. When combined with the PLUS dovetail clamp, this adapter creates a more rigid connection than the stock saddle. This improved stability helps minimize flexure, which is critical for long-exposure astrophotography with heavy telescopes like a Celestron EdgeHD 9.25 or a large refractor.

Why should I replace the original saddle on my AZ-EQ6 mount with this PrimaLuceLab Adapter Plate?

The primary reason is to achieve a more stable and secure connection for your telescope. The PrimaLuceLab PLUS system is known for its rigidity, and this adapter allows you to integrate their robust dual Vixen/Losmandy clamp onto your AZ-EQ6 mount, improving overall system stability for both visual and imaging applications.

Is installing the PrimaLuceLab PLUS Adapter Plate difficult?

Installation is generally straightforward for users comfortable with basic tool use. It involves unbolting and removing the stock saddle from the mount head and then securing this adapter plate in its place using the appropriate hardware. You can then attach the PrimaLuceLab PLUS clamp to the adapter.

Can I use this PrimaLuceLab Adapter Plate to mount my Explore Scientific AR152 refractor on an EQ6-R Pro?

This plate is designed for the classic EQ6, Atlas, and AZ-EQ6 mount heads. While the EQ6-R Pro has a similar lineage, you should verify the bolt pattern on your specific mount head matches the adapter before purchasing to ensure compatibility for your AR152 refractor.
