What is the purpose of the PrimaLuceLab GM1000 Adapter for the C120 Pier?

This adapter is a custom-machined plate designed specifically to connect a 10Micron GM1000 HPS mount head to the top plate of a PrimaLuceLab C120 observatory pier. It ensures a secure, stable, and correctly aligned fit between these two components from different manufacturers.

Is the PrimaLuceLab GM1000 Adapter required to install my GM1000 mount on a C120 pier?

Yes, this adapter is mandatory for installation. The GM1000 mount and the C120 pier have different, incompatible mounting patterns. This adapter bridges the two systems, providing the correct holes and spacing for a direct, rigid connection without any modification.

Is the PrimaLuceLab GM1000 Adapter compatible with any other mounts or piers?

No. This adapter is engineered exclusively for the 10Micron GM1000 HPS mount and the PrimaLuceLab C120 pier. It will not work with other mount models (like the GM2000 or GM3000) or different pier systems, such as the PrimaLuceLab C82.

Does the PrimaLuceLab GM1000 Adapter for the C120 Pier include the necessary bolts?

The included hardware is not specified in the product data. Typically, mounting bolts are supplied with the mount, the pier, or the adapter. Please refer to the 'In the Box' tab for a definitive list of included items for this product.

Why do I need a specific adapter like the GM1000 for the C120 Pier instead of a generic plate?

A specific adapter ensures optimal rigidity and perfect alignment. For a high-precision mount like the GM1000, any flexure, vibration, or instability at the pier connection can degrade tracking accuracy and ruin long-exposure images. This adapter is designed for a perfect, no-flex fit between these two specific components.

Will this adapter work with the smaller C82 pier from PrimaLuceLab?

No, this adapter is made only for the C120 pier. A different adapter would be required for the C82 pier due to its different top plate dimensions and bolt pattern.
