What is the primary function of the QHYCCD Adapter Kit - Combo B2?

The primary function of the QHYCCD Adapter Kit - Combo B2 is to connect a camera or accessory with M54 threads to a Canon EF-mount lens. It provides exactly 10mm of spacing, which is critical for achieving the correct back focus needed for sharp, well-corrected images with photographic lenses.

What are the connection types on the QHYCCD Combo B2 adapter?

The adapter features a female M54x0.75 thread on the camera side and a male Canon EF bayonet mount on the lens side. This allows you to attach M54-threaded accessories like a QHYCCD camera or filter wheel to any Canon EF lens.

How do I know if I need the 10mm spacing from the QHYCCD Combo B2?

You need this 10mm adapter if the total back focus requirement of your Canon EF lens (typically 44mm) is not met by your camera and any other accessories in the light path. You must calculate the total length of your imaging train; this adapter provides a fixed 10mm component to help you reach that target distance.

Can I use the QHYCCD Combo B2 to image the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) with a telephoto lens?

Yes, absolutely. This adapter is ideal for that purpose. By connecting a sensitive QHYCCD camera to a Canon EF telephoto lens (e.g., 200mm or 300mm), you can create a wide-field imaging system perfectly suited for large targets like the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) or the Orion Nebula (M42).

Will the QHYCCD Combo B2 work with my QHY268C camera and a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens?

Yes, this adapter provides the correct physical mount to connect a QHY268C (which uses M54 threads) to a Canon EF 50mm lens. The 10mm spacing it provides is one piece of the puzzle; you will need to ensure your total back focus stack (camera sensor depth + filter wheel + this adapter) equals the lens's required 44mm back focus for optimal results.

Is the spacing of the QHYCCD Combo B2 adapter adjustable?

No, the QHYCCD Adapter Kit - Combo B2 provides a fixed optical path length of 10mm. It is not adjustable. This fixed length ensures rigidity and simplifies back focus calculations.
