What is the purpose of the Shelyak High Voltage Power Supply?

You will need a separate 12V DC power supply capable of delivering at least 2A of current. The connector must be a 5.5/2.5 mm barrel plug with a center-positive polarity. This power adapter is not included with the unit.
Do I need a special cable to use this power supply with my Thorium-Argon lamp for an eShel spectrograph?
Yes. When using this power supply with a hollow cathode lamp (HCL) like a Thorium-Argon lamp, you must use the specific "cable for hollow cathode lamp" (Shelyak ref. SE0268), which is sold separately. For other lamps, a 3-pin male connector (ref. EL0334) is available to build a custom cable.
