What is the purpose of the Paramount Homing Sensor Cable?

This cable connects the homing sensors to the main electronics board of the Paramount mount. These sensors allow the mount to find its physical 'home' or zero position, which is a critical first step for achieving accurate GoTo slewing and tracking for the rest of the night.

Which Paramount mounts are compatible with this homing sensor cable?

This cable is an official replacement part specifically for the Software Bisque Paramount ME II, Paramount MX, Paramount MX+, and Paramount MYT models. It is not intended for other mount series.

How do I know if I need to replace my Paramount's homing sensor cable?

If your mount fails to complete its homing sequence, or if you receive specific homing sensor errors within TheSkyX software, the cable is a primary suspect. Before ordering, check for visible damage to your existing cable or insecure connections at either end.

Is this an official Software Bisque part?

Yes. This is a genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) replacement part sourced directly from Software Bisque, ensuring full compatibility and reliability with your Paramount mount.

My Paramount MYT is failing its homing sequence before an imaging run on the Orion Nebula (M42). Could this cable be the problem?

Yes, a faulty or disconnected homing sensor cable is a very common cause for homing failures on a Paramount MYT. If the mount cannot find its home position, it cannot accurately slew to any target, including the Orion Nebula (M42). Replacing the cable is a logical troubleshooting step.

I damaged the cable on my Paramount MX+ during transport. Will this 1 lb cable restore my mount's GoTo accuracy?

Yes. If the damaged cable is the reason your Paramount MX+ cannot home properly, this 1 lb replacement will restore that function. Once the mount can successfully home, its pointing model and GoTo accuracy will be restored to their normal precision.
