What is the Software Bisque Paramount MX/MX+ Versa-Plate Brass Plunger used for?

This is a single replacement knob for the Versa-Plate saddle on a Software Bisque Paramount MX or MX+ mount. It is the part you tighten to secure the telescope's dovetail plate to the mount.

How many of these brass plungers do I need for a full Paramount MX/MX+ Versa-Plate?

The Paramount MX/MX+ Versa-Plate uses a total of three knobs. This product is for a single replacement unit, intended for observers who have lost or damaged one of the originals.

Is this an official Software Bisque part?

Yes, this is a genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) replacement part directly from Software Bisque. It ensures a perfect fit and function with your Paramount MX or MX+ Versa-Plate.

What are the dimensions of the Paramount MX/MX+ Versa-Plate Brass Plunger?

The listed dimensions for the product package are 4.5 x 12 x 4 inches, and the item weight is 3 lbs. These specifications likely refer to the shipping container rather than the knob itself.

I have a Paramount MX+ and can't tighten the dovetail for my Planewave CDK12.5. Could a damaged plunger be the cause?

Yes, absolutely. If one of the Versa-Plate's brass plungers has stripped threads, is bent, or is missing entirely, you will not be able to achieve a secure lock on your CDK's dovetail bar. Replacing the faulty knob with this OEM part is the correct step to resolve the issue and ensure your telescope is held rigidly for imaging.

Will this Software Bisque brass plunger fit a Paramount ME II or Taurus mount?

This plunger is specifically designed for the Paramount MX and MX+ Versa-Plate. It is not specified to be compatible with other Software Bisque mount models like the Paramount ME, ME II, or Taurus series, which may use different saddle plates and hardware.
