What is the Software Bisque Paramount MYT Versa-Plate Brass Plunger for?

This is a single, direct OEM replacement knob for the Software Bisque Paramount MYT Versa-Plate. It is used to clamp down and secure a telescope's dovetail bar to the mount's saddle plate.

How many Paramount MYT Versa-Plate knobs do I get with this order?

You receive quantity one (1) replacement knob per order. A complete Paramount MYT Versa-Plate uses three of these knobs, so this part is intended to replace a single lost or damaged unit.

Will this knob fit the Versa-Plate on a Paramount ME II mount, or only the MYT?

This plunger is specifically listed for the Paramount MYT Versa-Plate. While it may be compatible with other Software Bisque plates, compatibility is only guaranteed for the MYT model. Please verify the part requirements for other mounts before ordering.

Why would I need to replace the original brass plunger on my Paramount MYT?

The most common reasons for replacement are accidental loss during transport or setup in the dark, or damage to the threads from cross-threading or impact. Having a spare ensures that a minor mishap doesn't prevent an entire imaging session.

Is this the same knob that comes with a new Paramount MYT Versa-Plate?

Yes. This is an official factory replacement part from Software Bisque. It is identical in material, fit, and function to the original knobs supplied with a new Paramount MYT Versa-Plate.

Can I use this knob to secure my Celestron 8" EdgeHD OTA to the Paramount MYT Versa-Plate?

Yes. This knob is part of the Versa-Plate system itself. It secures the dovetail bar (either CGE or Losmandy D-style) that is attached to your Celestron 8" EdgeHD optical tube. This knob performs the clamping action on the dovetail bar.
