Discover the universe with unparalleled precision using the William Optics Redcat 51 WIFD, a top-tier apochromatic astrograph designed for both astrophotographers and wildlife photographers. This portable yet powerful instrument combines innovative features with superior craftsmanship, making it an essential tool for capturing stunning celestial and terrestrial images.
Please note that the RedCat 51 WIFD is specifically designed for imaging purposes and is not suitable for visual observation with a standard diagonal. To use it for visual purposes, you must employ the 1.25" 90° erect prism designed specifically for the RedCat 51 WIFD.
The Redcat 51 WIFD boasts a 51mm aperture and a fast f/4.9 focal ratio, delivering sharp, high-contrast images with minimal chromatic aberration. The Petzval design and use of high quality FPL-53 glass ensures pinpoint stars across the entire field of view without having to worry about back focus, making it perfect for wide-field astrophotography!
Crafted from high-quality materials, the Redcat 51 WIFD features a lightweight, durable aluminum body. Its compact design makes it highly portable, ideal for on-the-go astrophotographers.
The innovative WIFD (William Optics Integrated Focuser Design) enables precise internal sliding of fixed optics, eliminating image shift. The focuser includes a built-in position viewing window for quick verification of the numerical display. Its smooth rack and pinion mechanism allows for extremely fine adjustments, crucial for achieving critical focus. The internal movement of the optical elements is protected from environmental factors, ensuring they remain perfectly aligned. Additionally, the redesigned weight distribution improves balance during imaging sessions.
The William Optics RedCat telescope features an integrated rotator, offering astrophotographers unparalleled control and precision. This rotator allows for effortless 360-degree rotation of the imaging device, enabling perfect framing of celestial objects without disturbing the setup. Its robust construction ensures stability and smooth operation, while the finely graduated scale allows for precise angular adjustments.
The Redcat 51 WIFD includes a double sided dovetail, compatible with V-Series or Arca-Swiss mounts, providing versatile mounting solutions for various tripods and mounts.
A convenient handle is installed on top of the telescope to accept accessories, such as the optional uniguide scope or ZWO ASIAIR.
Featuring an M48x0.75 thread, the Redcat 51 WIFD is compatible with a wide range of cameras, including DSLRs, mirrorless, and dedicated astrophotography cameras. It comes with a variety of accessories, including a dedicated Bahtinov mask for precise focusing and a soft carrying case for easy transportation.
