QHY organizes largely around sensor format, with matched accessories designed to keep the imaging train short and the spacing predictable.

  • Cooled deep-sky cameras: Regulated thermoelectric cooling with anti-dew heating on the sensor window, in APS-C through full-frame and larger formats, monochrome and one-shot colour.
  • Guide cameras: Small, sensitive, high frame rate sensors for guiding and planetary capture, widely used with both guide scopes and off-axis guiders.

Do I need an off-axis guider or a guide scope?
Guide scopes are simpler and fine below roughly 800 mm focal length. Beyond that, differential flexure between two tubes becomes larger than your guiding tolerance, and an off-axis guider is the reliable answer.
Which sensor size should I choose?
Whichever your corrector covers well. A full-frame camera behind a corrector rated for APS-C gives soft, elongated corners. Tell us your telescope and corrector and we will say what it can actually illuminate.
How much cooling do I need?
Enough to reach a stable set point you can hold on warm nights as well as cold ones, since your calibration frames must match. Being able to hold minus 10 in July matters more than reaching minus 30 in January.
Is warranty handled domestically?
Yes. As an authorized dealer we process warranty and diagnostics in Canada, so a cooling fault does not require international shipping.
