How does the 3" Riderclamp on the Baader Counterweight attach to a telescope?
The 3" Riderclamp attaches directly to any D-Series (Losmandy-style) dovetail bar. Most telescopes are mounted to the saddle via such a bar. You can attach this counterweight to the top or bottom bar of your optical tube, or to any other D-Series bar in your setup, to counteract off-axis weight and achieve optimal balance.
When would I need a 1kg counterweight instead of a larger one?
A 1 kg counterweight is ideal for correcting minor imbalances. For example:

By clamping the 1 kg counterweight to the front of the telescope's top or bottom dovetail rail, you can easily shift the center of gravity forward and restore perfect balance for smoother tracking.
Is this Baader counterweight compatible with Vixen-style (V-series) dovetail bars?
No. This unit is equipped with a 3" D-Series (Losmandy-style) clamp and is not compatible with the narrower Vixen-style (V-series) dovetail bars. Ensure your telescope or mounting plate uses the wider D-Series standard before purchasing.
