  • Celestron Motor Board for CPC Series Telescopes

Bring the heart of your telescope's precision pointing back to life with the Celestron Motor Board for CPC Series Telescopes. This genuine Celestron replacement part is the definitive solution for restoring the accurate GoTo slewing and dependable tracking your CPC mount was designed for, backed by a 2-Year factory warranty. If your telescope has become unreliable, this board is the key component for returning its motor control system to factory-new condition.

Restore Your CPC's Original GoTo Slewing and Tracking

The motor control board is the electronic brain of your CPC telescope's drive system, translating commands from the hand controller into precise physical movement. When this component fails, even a perfectly aligned telescope can suffer from erratic slewing, poor tracking, or a complete loss of communication with the motors, often resulting in "No Response 16" or "No Response 17" errors.

By replacing a faulty or damaged board, you restore the stable communication between the control system and the drive motors. This ensures your telescope responds instantly and accurately, finding and tracking celestial objects with the smooth, quiet precision you expect from a CPC system.

A Genuine Celestron Part for Guaranteed Compatibility

This is an authentic Celestron-manufactured part, ensuring a perfect fit and seamless electronic integration with Celestron CPC Series telescopes. Using a genuine replacement part eliminates the guesswork and potential compatibility issues that can arise from third-party components. It's the most reliable way to ensure a lasting repair and maintain the integrity of your telescope's electronics.

Diagnosing a Faulty Motor Board: Common Symptoms

If your CPC mount is experiencing electronic issues, a failing motor board is a common cause. Before ordering, consider if your telescope exhibits any of the following symptoms, especially after confirming your power supply is stable and sufficient.

    • "No Response 16" or "No Response 17" Errors: Celestron's NexStar+ troubleshooting guide says that if the hand control shows only one of these errors, the problem is with the mount, not the hand control.
    • Erratic or Unresponsive Slewing: One or both axes may move unpredictably, fail to move at all, or continue moving after a command is stopped.
    • Poor Tracking: The telescope may fail to keep objects centered in the eyepiece during long observations, even after a successful alignment.

Please Note: Due to the nature of electronic repairs, all replacement part sales are final. If you are unsure about the diagnosis, we recommend contacting Celestron technical support for assistance before purchase.

  • How do I know if my CPC telescope's motor board is the problem?

Celestron's NexStar+ troubleshooting guide says a "No Response 16" or "No Response 17" error on its own (only one of the two) points to a problem with the mount rather than the hand control. If both appear, try a different power source, plug the hand control into an AUX port, and update the hand control firmware with Celestron Firmware Manager. Contact Celestron Technical Support to confirm the diagnosis before ordering.

Is installing the Celestron CPC motor board a difficult repair?

For individuals with some experience in electronics or mechanical repairs, the process is generally straightforward. However, it involves handling sensitive electronic components. If you are not comfortable performing the repair yourself, we recommend contacting Celestron or a qualified telescope repair service.

Will replacing the motor board fix the "No Response" error on my CPC mount?

If the error is caused by a hardware failure in the board itself, then yes, replacing it should resolve the issue. However, "No Response" errors can also be caused by low or unstable power, faulty cables, or a bad hand controller. It is crucial to troubleshoot these other potential causes first to ensure you are replacing the correct part.

Why should I use a genuine Celestron motor board for my CPC telescope?

Using a genuine Celestron replacement part guarantees correct fitment, electronic compatibility, and reliable communication with your telescope's other components, like the hand controller and GPS module. It ensures that the repair will restore the mount to its original factory specifications without risking damage from incompatible third-party electronics.
