David Astro Collimation Knobs for Celestron C6 SCT
- Hand adjustment of the C6 secondary mirror
- Replace the stock collimation screws
- No screwdriver or hex key needed
- Adjust while at the eyepiece
The David Astro Collimation Knobs for Celestron C6 SCT replace the small collimation screws of the C6 secondary mirror, so you can collimate by hand without a screwdriver or hex key.
SCT collimation is done by small adjustments to the secondary mirror while watching a defocused star. With knobs in place of the screws you can make those adjustments by hand at night, with no tool to drop onto the corrector plate.
Replace the screws one at a time, so the secondary mirror stays supported throughout the change.
The stock screws need a tool, which is awkward in the dark and can slip onto the corrector plate. Knobs let you collimate by hand.
Remove one stock screw, thread in one knob and snug it gently. Repeat for each remaining screw, never removing more than one at a time.
They are made for the Celestron C6. Contact us before ordering and we will confirm it for you.
No. Secondary mirror adjustments are then made by hand.
