  • Sky-Watcher Quattro 300P Imaging Newtonian 12" (305 mm)

The Sky-Watcher Quattro 300P is a 12" (305mm) imaging Newtonian with a 1200mm focal length at f/4 and a 2" dual-speed Crayford focuser. The tube is 42.5" long, 14.25" in outer diameter and 57 lb with accessories.

    305mm f/4 Optics

The 305mm primary mirror has a 1200mm focal length, giving f/4. The primary edge thickness is 38mm and the secondary mirror 102mm.

    Focuser and Accessories

The 2" dual-speed Crayford focuser has a fine-focus knob alongside the main knobs. A 2" to 1.25" eyepiece adapter is included for 1.25" accessories.

No coma corrector or eyepiece is included.

    Mounting the 57 lb Tube

The box holds the tube, a 9x50 finderscope, a pair of tube rings, a D-style dovetail rail and a 2" to 1.25" adapter.

The tube rings and D-style dovetail rail need a mount with a D-style saddle and a payload rating that covers the 57 lb tube plus your camera and accessories.

    Solar Safety

Never point the telescope or its finder at the Sun without a proper solar filter securely covering the front of the telescope: looking at the Sun through it will cause permanent eye damage.

  • What kind of mount is required for the Sky-Watcher Quattro 300P?

The tube weighs 57 lb with accessories and comes with a D-style dovetail rail. Choose a mount with a D-style saddle and a payload rating that covers the tube plus your camera and accessories.

    Can I use it visually?

Yes, with your own eyepieces: the 2" focuser takes 2" eyepieces and the included adapter takes 1.25" ones.

What focal length and ratio does it have?

    1200mm at f/4, with a 305mm primary mirror.

What size is the secondary mirror?

    102mm.

Can I use my 1.25" eyepieces with the Quattro 300P?

Yes. A 2" to 1.25" eyepiece adapter is included.

    What focuser does it have?

It is a 2" dual-speed Crayford focuser: a main knob for coarse focus and a fine-focus knob for small adjustments.
