  • Starlight Instruments 1.25" Adapter for Lunt 50mm Solar Telescope

The Starlight Instruments 1.25" Adapter is a purpose-built component designed to mount a Starlight Instruments 1.25" Feather Touch focuser (FTF1575BCR or FTF1575BCR-DS) on your Lunt 40mm or 50mm Solar Telescope. This high-precision adapter solves the problem of non-standard interfaces, so you can fit a 1.25" Feather Touch focuser (FTF1575BCR or FTF1575BCR-DS) for your solar observation sessions.

Machined in the USA to Starlight Instruments' exacting standards, this adapter guarantees a secure, no-slip fit that maintains perfect optical alignment. Unlike generic adapters, its precise tolerances prevent any tilt or wobble, which is critical for maintaining the sharpest possible views of solar prominences and surface details. It's a simple, essential component that reflects the quality of the instrument it's designed for.

  • What is the purpose of the Starlight Instruments 1.25" Adapter for the Lunt 50mm?

This adapter lets you mount a Starlight Instruments 1.25" Feather Touch focuser (FTF1575BCR or FTF1575BCR-DS) on your Lunt 40mm or 50mm Solar Telescope; it attaches to the telescope by its M35 outside thread.

Why choose this Starlight Instruments adapter over a generic one?

Starlight Instruments is renowned for its precision machining. This adapter is manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, ensuring a perfect fit that prevents optical tilt or misalignment. This is crucial in solar observation, where any mechanical slop can degrade the fine details you are trying to resolve.

Can I use this adapter with my 2" eyepieces on the Lunt 50mm Solar Telescope?

No. This adapter mounts a 1.25" Feather Touch focuser (FTF1575BCR or FTF1575BCR-DS), so your accessories go in that 1.25" focuser, not a 2" one.

Will the Starlight Instruments adapter securely hold an imaging camera on my Lunt 50mm?

Yes, through the focuser it carries: the FTF1575BCR / FTF1575BCR-DS drawtube is threaded with a T-thread for attaching cameras. The secure connection is essential for maintaining focus during an imaging run.

Will this adapter let me use a high-power 1.25" eyepiece to see surface granulation on the Lunt 50mm?

Yes, through the focuser it carries: the 1.25" Feather Touch focuser holds your 1.25" eyepieces, and its fine focus helps you bring granulation and sunspot structure to sharp focus.

Is this adapter compatible with other Lunt solar telescopes, like the 60mm or 80mm models?

This adapter is for the Lunt 40mm and 50mm Solar Telescopes only. Other Lunt models may use different focuser threads or designs, so compatibility is not guaranteed. You should seek an adapter made specifically for your telescope model.
