    The HD5 head is an inch wider than the Tele-Pod version, with larger bearings and cradle holes that accept the NP127 baseplate and every other Tele Vue scope.

    The Gibraltar HD Tripod

    Leg extensions raise the altitude axis to 5 ft, and a scale on the extensions lets you return to the same height. A wood accessory tray ties the legs together, a built-in pier allows high-altitude viewing, a bubble level is built into the tripod base, and metal ground spikes with rubber tips are provided.

    Object Locating

    Encoders can be added for push-to object locating. On the HD5, STS-5002 spacers are needed to fasten the azimuth encoder cover.
