  • Wanderer Astro Low Profile Filter Cell Replacement Kits for 2" Filters

The Wanderer Astro Low Profile Filter Cell Replacement Kit (WA-LPFCRK2) is Wanderer Astro's solution for fitting 2" mounted filters with oversized cells into the Wanderer FilterCube 50. This kit provides four replacement cells that reduce the cell height to just 4.4mm (6.5mm overall), for filters whose original cell body (excluding the thread) is thicker than 6mm. Each cell features a 50mm outer diameter and maintains a generous 43mm clear aperture.

Solving the Over-6mm Clearance Issue in the FilterCube 50

The Wanderer FilterCube 50 has limited internal clearance. While it accepts standard 2" filters, some manufacturers use cells with a body height (excluding threads) greater than 6mm, which may cause physical interference or get stuck due to manufacturing tolerances. This kit directly addresses that problem by allowing you to re-house your existing filter glass in a new, low-profile cell.

    A 4.4mm Height Cell with a 43mm Clear Aperture

Each of the four included cells has a height of only 4.4mm (excluding the thread), well within the FilterCube 50's clearance. They feature standard female M48x0.75 threads on the front and male M48x0.75 threads on the rear. The design includes a retaining ring to secure your 2" filter glass, a dedicated tool for installation, and a set of writable stickers to easily identify which filter is in each position.

  • When do I need this Wanderer Astro Low Profile Filter Cell Kit?

You need this kit if your 2" mounted filter has a cell body that is thicker than 6mm, excluding the male threads. Due to the limited internal clearance of the Wanderer FilterCube 50, filters with thicker cells may interfere with the mechanism or become stuck. This kit allows you to move your filter's glass into a compliant low-profile cell.

Will this Wanderer Astro kit work with other filter wheels?

This kit is specifically designed as a solution for the Wanderer FilterCube 50. While the cells use a standard M48x0.75 thread, their compatibility with other filter wheels is not guaranteed or specified by the manufacturer.

What are the dimensions of the Wanderer Astro low-profile cells?

Each replacement cell in the WA-LPFCRK2 kit has the following dimensions:

    • Outer Diameter: 50 mm
    • Clear Aperture: 43 mm
    • Cell Height (excluding thread): 4.4 mm
    • Overall Height: 6.5 mm
    • Thread: M48x0.75 (female front, male rear)

How many filters can I convert with one Wanderer Astro kit?

One kit contains everything needed to re-house four 2-inch filters. It includes four blank filter cells with four retaining rings, one installation tool, and a set of identification stickers.
