Kowa TSN-AS1.25G 1.25" Astronomy Eyepiece Adapter for PROMINAR, Grub Screws
The Kowa TSN-AS1.25G adapter combines 1.25" astro eyepieces with Kowa's TSN-99, TSN-88, TSN-77 and TSN-66 PROMINAR series spotting scopes, so you can use eyepieces you already own on these scopes (the TSN-550 series is excluded).
Unlocking 1.25" Eyepiece Compatibility for PROMINAR Scopes
The TSN-AS1.25G takes the place of the Kowa eyepiece and accepts a 1.25" astro eyepiece, so observers who already own 1.25" eyepieces can use them on a TSN-99, TSN-88, TSN-77 or TSN-66 PROMINAR scope.
The Grub Screw Advantage for Short Focal Length Eyepieces
The TSN-AS1.25G holds the eyepiece with grub screws. Kowa notes that the grub screws make this adapter particularly suitable for very short focal length eyepieces. For quick eyepiece changes, Kowa offers the TSN-AS1.25K with knurled screws.

Which Kowa spotting scopes are compatible with the TSN-AS1.25G adapter?
Kowa lists the TSN-AS1.25G for the TSN-99, TSN-88, TSN-77 and TSN-66 PROMINAR series spotting scopes. The TSN-550 series is excluded.
Why does the Kowa TSN-AS1.25G use grub screws?
Kowa says the grub screws make this adapter particularly suitable for very short focal length eyepieces. If you change eyepieces often, the TSN-AS1.25K version uses knurled screws for quick changes.
Will my 1.25" astronomy eyepieces reach focus with the TSN-AS1.25G adapter?
Kowa does not publish focus travel figures or a list of tested 1.25" eyepieces for this adapter, so focus with a given eyepiece is not something we can confirm from Kowa's information.
How would I use the TSN-AS1.25G adapter for high-power birdwatching with my TSN-88 scope?
Kowa notes that the grub screw version is particularly suitable for very short focal length eyepieces, which give the higher magnifications. The magnification you get depends on the eyepiece you fit.
Will the grub screws on the TSN-AS1.25G damage my eyepiece barrels?
Grub screws press directly on the eyepiece barrel and can mark the finish if over-tightened. Tighten them only enough to hold the eyepiece securely.
