    If you need to open your filter wheel outdoors to change a filter, you can first unthread the camera and seal it with the M54M Metal Cover. This completely protects your sensor from airborne dust or dew while you work on the filter wheel, preventing contamination during a critical procedure.

    Can I use the M54M Metal Cover on my filter wheel's female port?

    Yes. If you remove your filter wheel from your telescope, you can use this M54M cover to seal the telescope-side port, provided it has M54 female threads. This keeps dust out of the filter wheel and off your filters when it's not in use.
