  • Turn Your TV-60 into a Superfinder for Your SCT

    The Tele Vue TV-60 X-Y Mount kit SCT (AAC-0002) lets you quickly install your TV-60 on a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope 8" or larger for use as a "superfinder". Its X-Y adjustable mount aligns the TV-60 with your main telescope using two horizontal adjustment screws and a vertical jack screw.

    Independent X-Y Axis Control

    At the heart of the system is the AAM-0001 X-Y Adjustable Mount. Its large knob acts as a pivot for the two horizontal adjustment screws and also locks the vertical jack screw adjustment, so you can align the TV-60 with your main telescope.

    Attaching the Kit to Your SCT

    The kit includes the SAB-1001 SCT Accessory Bracket, installed on your SCT with the screws supplied with the SCT, and the MBC-1001 Mounting Block, which carries the X-Y mount and locks into the bracket with a plastic knob. Once installed, your TV-60 superfinder is instantly removable for field use.

    The Perfect Partner for the Tele Vue TV-60

    The X-Y mount carries a dovetail matching the TV-60's own: remove the TV-60's stop screws, slide it on, and reinstall the stop screw for safety. The TV-60's wide, flat, and sharp field of view makes it an ideal high-performance finderscope, revealing faint fuzzies with ease.

    System-Specific Design as a Trade-Off

    This is not a universal finder mount. It is designed to carry a Tele Vue TV-60 on a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope 8" or larger; without the mounting block and SCT bracket, the X-Y mount attaches directly to the slots of Tele Vue telescope ring mounts.

  • Will the TV-60 X-Y Mount kit fit my Celestron or Meade SCT?

    The SAB-1001 SCT Accessory Bracket installs on Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes 8" or larger using screws supplied with the SCT. Position it so the stop-screw faces the eyepiece end of the telescope.

    Why use this X-Y mount instead of standard finder rings?

    The X-Y mount adjusts each axis separately: two horizontal adjustment screws pivot on the large knob, which also locks the vertical jack screw. The TV-60 dovetail slides on and off, so the superfinder is instantly removable for field use.

    Can I use a telescope other than the TV-60 with this mount?

    There is no ring: the TV-60's own dovetail slides onto the X-Y mount's matching dovetail. Without the mounting block and SCT bracket, the X-Y mount can also attach directly to the slots of Tele Vue telescope ring mounts.

    What tools are needed for installation?

    The SAB-1001 bracket installs on your SCT using screws supplied with the SCT. On the SCT setup, the MBC-1001 Mounting Block is normally attached to the X-Y mount's U-channel with two #10-32 button head screws.
