    Dual-Purpose Field Protection: Blocking Dew and Stray Light

    The primary function of the Dew Shield DX is to prevent dew, which can end an observing session prematurely by fogging your optics. By extending the optical tube, it creates a buffer of air that slows the rate at which the corrector plate cools to the dew point. For imagers and visual observers, it also serves as a lens hood, blocking stray light from nearby sources from entering the telescope and reducing image contrast.
