Explore Scientific AR Doublet Refractors

Explore Scientific AR refractors are achromatic doublet refractors in 102mm, 127mm and 152mm apertures. The AR102, AR127 and AR152 put a lot of aperture in a refractor with a relatively short tube, well suited to wide views of the Milky Way, open clusters and bright nebulae.

As achromats, they show some color fringing on bright objects at high magnification, so they are most at home as visual instruments at low and medium power. The AR152 suits observers who want a large refractor for sweeping and outreach.
