- A probe measures tube temperature and the controller shifts focus by a coefficient you determine for your telescope. Once set, focus holds through the night without refocusing routines.
- What is an instrument selector for?
- It routes the telescope's light to one of several attached instruments on command. It is mainly useful where a telescope serves multiple purposes, such as imaging and spectroscopy.
- Do I need an automated flat panel?
- For unattended or remote operation, yes — otherwise someone must cover the telescope for flats. For a backyard setup where you are present, a manual panel is adequate.
