  • Software Bisque Paramount MYT Soft Carrying Case Set

Protect your investment with the official Software Bisque Paramount MYT Soft Carrying Case Set. Engineered specifically for the MYT, this set of custom-fitted cases provides essential protection against dust, moisture, and impacts during transport to and from your observing site. It offers a secure, organized, and far more convenient solution than relying on the original shipping box.

Custom-Fit Protection for the Paramount MYT

A precision instrument like the Paramount MYT deserves better than a generic, one-size-fits-all bag. These cases are tailored to the exact dimensions of the MYT mount head and its key components, ensuring a snug fit that prevents shifting during transit. This immobilization is critical for protecting the mount's delicate worm gear mesh and internal electronics from vibration and minor shocks.

The soft-sided construction guards the mount's anodized finish from scratches and scuffs, preserving its condition and resale value. Unlike a hard case, these soft cases are lightweight and less bulky, making them ideal for transport in your vehicle without taking up excessive space.

Organized Transport: A Major Upgrade from the Shipping Box

While the original factory box is designed for one-way shipping, it's cumbersome and not built for repeated use. The cardboard and foam inserts quickly degrade, leaving your mount vulnerable. This case set is a permanent, professional solution for field transport.

The two-case design carries the mount in one case and the MYT Accessory Kit in the other. This grab-and-go system ensures you never forget a critical component and makes setup and teardown at your site significantly faster and more efficient.

  • What is included in the Paramount MYT Soft Carrying Case Set?

The set contains two soft-sided cases: the Paramount MYT Soft Carrying Case and the Paramount MYT Accessory Kit Carrying Case. They are sized for the MYT and the MYT Accessory Kit in their packing foam, which is sold separately.

Are these cases compatible with the Paramount MX+ or ME II?

No. This case set is custom-designed and tailored specifically for the dimensions of the smaller, more portable Paramount MYT. It will not fit the larger Paramount MX+ or ME II mounts.

How well do these soft cases protect the Paramount MYT mount?

The cases provide excellent protection from common hazards during personal transport, including:

    • Scratches and Scuffs: The soft-sided material prevents cosmetic damage to the mount's finish.
    • Dust and Moisture: Keeps the mount clean and dry during storage and transit.
    • Minor Bumps: The packing foam (sold separately) absorbs shock from setting the case down or minor bumps inside a vehicle.

They are not designed to substitute for a hard case for shipping or airline baggage check-in.

Why should I buy the Paramount MYT case set instead of just using the original box?

The original shipping box is made of cardboard and is not durable enough for repeated use in the field; it will break down over time. This case set offers superior durability, better organization with dedicated bags for accessories, and is much easier to carry and fit into a vehicle.

Is the Paramount MYT soft case set suitable for airline travel?

No. For shipping or checking as airline baggage, a rigid, Pelican-style hard case with custom-cut foam is the required level of protection. This soft case set is intended for transporting the mount in your personal vehicle to local observing sites, where you are in control of its handling.
