The ZWO ASI220mini Camera is an upgraded version of the ASI290MM Mini. This camera is designed for astrophotographers who seek a guide camera with higher sensitivity and a larger sensor than the ASI120MM Mini, but without the need for the even bigger sensor of the ASI174MM Mini. Perfectly suited for serious astrophotographers, the ASI220mini ensures reliable autoguiding to achieve sharp, long-exposure images of the night sky. This camera is predominantly used alongside a guide scope or an off-axis guider, particularly with telescopes that have short to medium focal lengths.
High-Sensitivity Sensor
This monochrome guide camera with outstanding near-infrared sensitivity features s 4um x 4um pixel size, boasting a 1920×1080 array, and comes with a substantial full well capacity of 8780e. With a peak quantum efficiency of 92% at 500nm, the camera excels in detecting faint stars, making it easier to lock onto a guide star for improved tracking accuracy.
Easy to integrate
ZWO has engineered the ASI220MM Mini to be easy to integrate into your astrophotography setup. Its small size makes it an unobtrusive addition to your astrophotography rig, and its compatibility with a wide range of telescopes and mounts enhances its utility as an autoguiding tool.
Its type-C USB 2.0 port allows for straightforward data transfer and power, and it's compatible with popular astrophotography softwares for seamless operation. The ST-4 port can be used to send guide corrections to the mount when the mount does not support ASCOM pulse guiding.
Performance graphs
As illustrated in the graphics below, the ASI220mini offers a read noise going as low as 0.6e. Its unity gain is of 68, while the HCG gain of 106 is where the read noise of the camera drops by half. Its 12-bit ADC and dynamic range allows to get the nice star profiles needed for autoguiding.
Mechanical Drawing
The ASI220MM Mini features a 1.25" body, and its sensor is positioned 8.5mm within the camera body. This compact design that requires minimal back focus ensures that this camera is compatible with virtually all guide scopes and off-axis guiders (OAG).
