The 5x24 finderscope provides a low-magnification, wide-field view that makes it much easier to locate celestial objects. Instead of trying to aim the main telescope, which has a very narrow field of view, you use the finder's crosshairs to center your target first, ensuring it will be visible in the eyepiece.

Start with the 12.5mm eyepiece for a lower magnification of 24x. This is best for finding objects and viewing large star clusters or the entire Moon. Once you have your target centered, switch to the 6mm eyepiece to increase the magnification to 50x for more detailed views of planets like Jupiter and Saturn or specific lunar craters.

Use the Moon Filter whenever the Moon is bright, especially from the first quarter to full moon phases. The filter reduces glare, which increases contrast and allows your eye to see much more surface detail.
